Had a great time in shanghai and the hotel was in an excellent location. Bund, Nanging? shopping street. Liked the room, 4th floor, front, huge curved room. No view except of the street. Old world charm to the place. staff very helpful.

The Metropole is a lovely old hotel in an excellent location in Shanghai. Very convenient to The Bund - just a very short pleasant stroll. Excellent value for money. After my first night there I was given a free upgrade because of a \"water\" problem on the floor that I was staying on. The first night I had a view of the CCTV Tower and the remaining nights I had a nice view from a corner room with four (4) windows of the surrounding district. Again staff there particularly Sarah on Reception couldn\'t have been kinder or more efficient.

Great location - 5 minutes to the Bund. Cheaper rooms were very clean and spacious - maybe just looking a little tired.
